What is the Fabric Fest and who can attend?

This is the first EVER Riley Blake Designs Fabric Fest!  It is exactly what the name implies...four days celebrating all that is wonderful about fabric!  There will be hands on classes taught by amazing teachers...lectures too, vendors, make and takes, and lots of chances to network with others who share your enthusiasm.

 

Anyone can attend - shop owners and their employees, bloggers, and individual sewists.

Who can't attend? Anyone under 18 and your pet, sorry no pets allowed in the hotel.

 

What is included?

Conference ticket includes three nights hotel stay, opening reception, three breakfast vouchers, two lunches, one dinner with Fashion Show, four educational sessions, one make and take session with five projects, and lots of swag!    

 

I'm coming with a group from my shop.  How do we register?

Everyone who is attending the conference will need to register individually.  However, there are 3 different price points for the conference:

1.    Double Paying Occupancy, $495.00

Select this option if you are sharing a room with another paying attendee.  Be sure to give us the name of the person you are sharing with.

2.    Single Paying Occupancy, $595.00

Select this option if you are the only one in the room, or if you are sharing the room with a non-paying attendee (like your spouse or other family member).

3.    Locals Only, $395.00

Select this option if you are not staying in the hotel.

 

Can we have more than 2 people stay in the hotel room?

You can have up to 4 people in the same room.  There will be an additional charge of $20 per person for any over 2.

Will it save us any money to have 4 to a room?

No, we have set the conference pricing for 2 per room..so stretch out and enjoy some personal space!

Do I need to make my own hotel reservation?

No, we will take care of that for you.  Just be sure to let us know who you are sharing your room with.
What if I want to come in early or stay later? How do I make those hotel reservations?
If you would like to stay extra days at the hotel, please contact Jennifer.  If you call the hotel directly, you will not receive the group rate.  The group rate is $50 for week-days and Sunday, and $85 for Friday or Saturday.

 

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

You can also take a cab; the average cab fare is $25 (w/o tip). 

Car rentals are available at the airport, and the hotel provides free valet and self-parking.

What sewing items will the conference provide?

Sewing machines are provided in the following meeting rooms:

Napa A, Napa B, Huntington, Sonoma A, and Sonoma C/D

If you are taking classes that are not in these rooms, you will need to bring your own machine.

 

EVERY room will have at least one cutting station with mat, rotary cutters, and basic ruler, and one ironing station.

 

What sewing items do I need to provide?

For every sewing class, your instructors are expecting you to bring the following:

·         Fabric scissors, thread for all projects, pins, seam ripper, measuring tape, hand sewing supplies and rotary cutter & small mat if you do not want to use the classrooms.

·         Your personal sewing machine for any class that is not held in Napa A, Napa B, Huntington, Sonoma A, or Sonoma C/D meeting rooms.  The hotel will provide power to each table, so an extension cord is not necessary.

·         Any additional supply that is listed by your class instructor.  If you are purchasing a kit, please be sure to check the supply list for items that are not included.

 

What if I forgot something or run out of something?

There will be an on-site quilt shop that will be stocking Riley Blake Designs fabrics (both on the bolt and pre-cuts) and Sew Together notions, as well as other basic supplies needed for the classes.  We will also have sponsors and other vendors selling sewing related products as well.

 

Will there be a dedicated sewing room? Will it be open late?

We don't have a separate room dedicated just for sewing; however, we will be opening up at least one of the classrooms in the evening for you to work on your unfinished class projects.

And yes, it will be open for late night sewing!

 

What about meals?

The only meal you need to worry about is dinner on Wednesday...and with all the choices Las Vegas has to offer, that may be a problem!

 

Will I have any free time?

We have a full schedule and plan on keeping you busy during the day!  However, we have a free night on Wednesday, and since Vegas never sleeps, you will have time to get out and explore on Monday and Tuesday after our events...sleep is over-rated, right?

 

How do I get to the Strip?
