The 2018 Annual MEEA Conference will explore " Tough Teaching Topics." Held March 22-24, 2018 at Great Falls College MSU in Great Falls, MT. The three-day event will host professional development opportunities, networking events, and concurrent session lead by some of the most innovative and engaging presenters that Montana has to offer.
The Great Falls College MSU will provide space for our conference headquarters, as well as our exhibit fair, awards ceremony and Thursday evening social event. Other various sites in the Great Falls area will be used for Field Trips and events.
Thursday March 22, 2018 Full day professional development sessions will be held highlighting the resources found in the Great Falls area. The exhibit fair and an evening to connect and be inspired will be held that evening at Great Falls College, MSU. Celebrate the accomplishments and contributions by a nonformal educator, classroom teacher, business, and service to MEEA with the awards ceremony. Then get ready to be inspired as you take a quick glimpse into the minds of some exceptional educators during the Ignite presentations. Wrap it all up by sharing the excitement of the evening with fellow attendees as you relax and enjoy light refreshments.

Friday March 23, 2018 Concurrent sessions from influential presenters across the state will be held through the day. The much anticipated keynote address featuring Dr. Steven Running will take place after a buffet lunch. Dr. Running is a Regents Professor of Ecology at the University of Montana. He is a Co-Lead Chapter Author for the 2014 U.S. National Climate Assessment. He currently Chairs the NASA Earth Science Subcommittee, is a member of the NASA Science Advisory Council and the NOAA Climate Working Group. Dr. Running was a chapter Lead Author for the 4th Assesment of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which shared the Noble Peace Prize in 2007. In the evening we invite you to another social event. We are partnering with the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center to hold an open house at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. We are excited to welcome Duane Buchi of the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center as he delivers an interpretive program highlighting the early encounters of the Corps of Discovery the Grizzly Bear and the tough teaching topics related to these issues. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the exhibits of the the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.

Saturday March 24, 2018 To accomodate educators who might not be able to take time off during the week we are offering additional full day professional development highlighting the resources found in the Great Falls area on a Saturday.

Office of Public Instruction (OPI) Renewal Units will be available for the successful completion of all trainings and the main conference.
