Alan Korwin
Gun Safety Expert/Event Committee Member

Alan Korwin, author of six books and co-author of eight others, is a full-time freelance writer, consultant and entrepreneur with a thirty-year track record. Alan is one of the nation's leading Second Amendment gun-rights experts, with more than two decades of work in the field. Alan is widely recognized as a leading expert on America's gun laws, and has made more than 1,000 radio and TV appearances, including the national news shows. His 12th book, After You Shoot, has motivated changes in Arizona's judicial system and bills in state legislatures that continue to percolate. He is a founder and two-term past president of the Arizona Book Publishing Association, which has presented him with its Visionary Leadership award, named in his honor, the Korwin Award. He has received two national awards for publicity work as a member of the Society for Technical Communication, is a past board member of the Arizona chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, and has been active with the speaker’s bureau for the Wash., D.C.-based news-media watchdog, Accuracy In Media.
 


John Hard

John has been involved in the shooting sports since 1996. He is the current President of Cactus Match League, a United States Practical Shooting Association affiliated club in Scottsdale, Arizona. He joined the club in 1996 shortly after taking the CCW permit course, needed at that time, to carry concealed. In 1998 John took the USPSA Range Officers certification class and obtained his R.O. credentials.

In 1999 he took the Chief Range Officers course and became a C.R.O.
 
John joined the Nationals officiating team in 1999 and was one of the staff at the USPSA Nationals competition in Las Vegas. He has since worked as an official in all the Nationals competitions disciplines including Pistol, Precision Rifle, and Multigun. In 2010 John undertook the Range Master certification program and was certified a Range Master in 2011.  He is currently the Range Master for the USPSA Area 2 match, held at Rio Salado Sportsman’s club, and still officiates at the Nationals matches.
 
John is also the Arizona Section Coordinator for USPSA assisting the nine other member clubs in running safe and legal matches. He served as the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association’s Practical Pistol division chairman from 2005 to 2010 and assisted with range projects and promoting practical shooting around the state. John also competes in the sport and holds a “C” classification in Single Stack, Limited, and Limited 10 divisions.




Ron Peetz

Ron Peetz has been involved with firearms since he first started as a Tucson Police Officer in 1974.

During his six year tenure as a Police Officer, he maintained the qualification of Distinguished Expert in handgun marksmanship.

In the ensuing years, he has been a real estate broker who is also a licensed general contractor, and has been involved in many real estate developments as a broker, builder, and/or developer, and often as a principal.

Ron has previously been accredited by the National Rifle Association as an Instructor in Basic Handguns, Basic Rifles, Basic Shotguns, and also Personal Defense & Home Safety, although he no longer holds those certifications.

He has held a Federal Firearms License (FFL) since 1974, and he currently holds; a Type 01-Dealer FFL; a Type 07-Manufacturer FFL; and a Class 2 SOT Machine Gun / NFA Weapons Dealer & Manufacturer License.

Ron has fired countless tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition from fully automatic firearms over the course of numerous years, as well as instructing neophytes & seasoned shooters in the use of machine guns.



Robert Blackmer
Firearms Trainer

Robert Blackmer has been involved with firearms since getting his first professional training with a state correctional department in 1993. He began working with a wide range of firearms, including fully automatic ones, in 1995. In 1996, he received his NRA instructor certification and has been teaching students for concealed weapons permits, armed guard licenses and first time shooters at local gun ranges since. In 2002, he graduated from the police academy with the highest firearms proficiency in his class. In 2007, he started his own firearms training company and has been the exclusive firearms instructor for the nationwide corporation Dunbar Armored since.
