Field Trip 1: Snowshoe Hike at Rodney Ridge

Description:
Join Liz Burke from the US Forest Service for an educational hike at Rodney Ridge, where you'll explore the FireWorks Curriculum. Snowshoes and snacks will be provided. It’s a great opportunity to learn about local ecosystems while enjoying the winter landscape!
Field Trip 2: A Walk Through the Sevenmile Outdoor Classroom
Time: 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Sevenmile Restoration Site, off of 3913-3999 Birdseye Rd, Helena
Description:
Just a few miles northwest of Helena, Prickly Pear Land Trust (PPLT) manages the 400-acre Sevenmile Creek Project Area. This area, once used for agriculture, is now being restored to a functioning floodplain to support wildlife, vegetation, and fisheries while reducing downstream flooding and sediment. Join us for a 2-mile interpretive hike to learn about this important restoration effort. Please note there are no restrooms on site, but snacks will be provided.
Field Trip 3: Montana WILD Tour and Indoor Archery
Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: 2668 Broadwater Avenue, Helena, MT
Description:
Explore Montana WILD, an interactive exhibit that includes a scavenger hunt, a live Montana fish aquarium, and an outdoor picnic area. The center also offers educational programs and has an indoor archery range where you can try your hand at archery through the NASP program, guided by Ryan Schmaltz. Snacks will be provided!
